Siamese Mahjong Lesson – March 29

All Lessons are offered free of charge

Curious about Siamese Mahjong? Join us for a Siamese Mahjong training session where you’ll learn this exciting two-player variation of the game.

Siamese Mahjong is played with two players competing against each other, creating a faster-paced and highly strategic version of traditional Mahjong. While the gameplay still relies on the core structure used in standard play, the 2026 Siamese card features hands that are very different from those on the traditional card issued by the National Mah Jongg League. Because of these differences, learning how to read and approach the Siamese hands is an important part of the training.

Participants must already know how to play using National Mah Jongg League rules, as a solid understanding of the basic game is essential before learning the Siamese format.

To get the most out of the session, it is highly recommended that players purchase the 2026 Siamese card prior to the training so you can follow along during instruction and practice play.

During this lesson, we will cover:

  • How Siamese Mahjong differs from traditional four-player play
  • Understanding and reading the 2026 Siamese card
  • The structure and flow of a two-player Siamese game
  • Strategy considerations unique to Siamese Mahjong
  • Guided practice rounds
